Trustees and Judges

The following are Trustees of the Stamford Youth Business Development Trust, and will be the core judging team. Other specialists may be asked to help with the judging if other skills are needed.

Peter Copley

After a career as a property director for several FTSE 100 companies; including Emap, Anglian Water and Reuters, Peter launched Corporate Property Advisers, delivering property consultancy services to BBC, Shell, BP, ITV etc. In 2014 the company was sold to EC Harris part of the global Arcadis corporation.


    Martin Fox

    Has held senior marketing roles at Legal & General, Prolific and Pearl Assurance. Today he runs Bulletin Marketing, specialising in the financial services sector, with extensive experience in the EIS and Seed EIS sector. He is also a business coach for the Growth Accelerator programme run by Grant Thornton.


      Jo Thomson

      Jo has had a career in buying and marketing, which has included senior roles as Trading Director and Product Director for Boots, the Chemist. Today she is Chief Executive of the Leprosy Mission Trading. She also has extensive experience in interviewing candidates.


        Steve Burnett

        Is the founder and managing director of The Retail Data Partnership. He started the business after leaving his position as a director of Hambros Bank, he understands the importance of making IT systems work commercially, rather than just being intellectually exciting and challenging.


          Josh Brown

          Following university, Josh served as an infantry officer in the British Army, gaining valuable training and experience. He then went into the construction industry, progressing through a couple of positions, to be given responsibility for running a £5m turnover company. In 2012 he set up his own company-Trinity Steel Ltd, a specialist subcontractor that designs, supplies and installs architectural metalwork.


            Jessica Fox

            Jessica attended Stamford High School and Newcastle University. Today she works for Close Brothers Asset Management, where she is being trained as a Trustee for Charities, to help bring younger people into this role. She also helps with the 'Future Leaders' programme for Close Brothers, which is designed to help young people prepare for leadership roles in the future.
