Cameron Jarvis won the competition last year. Look out for his new business, Sparqz, which is launching soon. It will offer computer repairs and servicing, as well as providing high quality bespoke kit for gamers.

The runner up, Joe Hambleton, is also being supported in his new venture, designing and producing innovative T shirts.

How it works

You can enter if you are aged 16-23 and live in Stamford or the surrounding area.

The Business Idea…

Once you've got your business idea, simply download this application form.
And email it to stamford@youth-startup.org.uk. In no more than 500 words, describe the idea, the target market for your goods or services, the resources you might need and the issues you think you'll face. You can download an example of what we are looking for here

The deadline for entry is 30th November 2015. But you don't have to wait until then, you can enter as soon as you are ready.

Initial evaluation…

All ideas will be evaluated by our expert panel of judges and 5 of the best ideas will be invited to the next stage. You will be notified of this by 21st December. Each applicant or team will be allocated a local business mentor, and will be given access to specialists in IT, accountancy, law, marketing and HR, who will help you to develop your business plan and pitch document.

Business plan & Pitch document…

Through December, January and February you'll get to work with your mentor and specialists to produce a quality business plan and pitch document that will form the basis of your submission to the judges by no later than 27th February 2016.

The pitch…

In March you'll pitch your idea to a panel of local businessmen and sponsors... just like in the "Dragon's Den".
